Derek's Studio Session

I've known Derek and his family for a few years now. I was very close friends with his sister back in high school. It's crazy to think he's a senior now! Here's a sneak-peak from our studio session. We had an outdoor session earlier this summer as well. I'll put a couple from both :-)

Happy (late) Holidays!

Okay, okay... I'm a little behind on updating my blog. I admit it! But, I must also admit that this Holiday season was one of the best yet! SO much time spent with family and friends I don't see very often. I always love this time of year.

Excitement is in the air!

I have a big announcement to make!

I HAVE A STUDIO.

Yes, it is official. I have a studio.

I'm pretty excited about. SO excited that I had to have my beautiful friend Mary model for me to get some practice with my new lights and a few props. I have a week full of sessions coming up in the studio. I can't wait to show all of you my new work!

It's A Wonderful Life

This was definitely an experimental photography session for me! I absolutely LOVED it though. I have never taken pictures of a theatre performance, but I've always been interested in it seeing how I'm a theatre geek. I've become pretty close with my former theatre director who is still the director at my old high school, and he gave me the opportunity to capture pictures of his fall play: It's A Wonderful Life.Let me know what you think!

Emily & Brady - Engaged!

Well, I must admit that these two made this session so unbelievably easy for me! They are so much fun and are always giggling and smiling - SO in love. I found myself just smiling while watching them. I don't think I ever once had to truly "pose" them, they were so perfect on their own! I can't wait until their wedding... Thanks guys for a great session and CONGRATS!

Tillema Family

Thank goodness the rain had held off for my family session with the Tillema's! We really wanted to do an outdoor session so we could get all the pretty and bright fall leaves - but it was starting to rain a lot more that week than usual which meant these leaves wouldn't be hanging out much longer! We decided to just plan on the session whatever the forecast said and if it rained then we would have to reschedule. Guess what? It ended up being one of the most beautiful fall days so far this year... It was a fun session trying to get little Ellise to smile for me - isn't she a doll though? Take a look at this adorable family!

Holman Family Pictures

I had the joy of taking pictures of my best friends a few weeks ago. The Holman's are a second family to me, so this was definitely a fun session! They have the most amazing farm I have ever seen - perfect for taking pictures. I wish I could take all of my clients to their place! You would love all of the old farm equipment, barns, and animals they have. It's what I would consider a photographers "playground" :) Here are a few of my favorite shots from the session. Enjoy!
